In August 2022, Dr. Blais joined the animal facility team at the CRCHUM.
He received his diploma from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FVM) at the Université de Montréal in 2017 and then completed an advanced internship in companion animal medicine and surgery.
From 2018 to 2019, he worked as a teaching clinician in the FVM’s Emergency and Critical Care Services.
Since 2019, he has been practicing veterinary medicine with CENTREDMVET as an emergency clinician. He is currently pursuing a master's degree in veterinary science and is involved in training FVM students. For instance, he supervises their performance of anaesthetic procedures.
For some time now, he has been considering a switch to laboratory animal medicine. His main medical interests are anaesthesia/analgesia, emergency/intensive care, population medicine, internal medicine and neurology.
His goals at the CRCHUM? To continue improving the welfare of animals in research, to support research teams and to participate in carbon neutrality objectives.
