Animal facility
The CRCHUM has an ultramodern animal facility that can accommodate several species of animals. The specialized housing includes facilities for large species, rodents and fish.
The CRCHUM has earned a Certificate of Good Animal Practice from the Canadian Council on Animal Care (CCAC). All the employees of the animal facility are committed to maintaining the integrity of animal models and ensuring accurate experimental results and animal well-being.
The use of any animal requires the prior approval of the Institutional Animal Care Committee (IACC).
Our services are available for university, hospital and industry researchers.
The Canadian Council on Animal Care (CCAC) is the national organization responsible for the development, implementation and oversight of the highest standards of animal ethics and care in science in Canada. The CRCHUM has earned a Certificate of Good Animal Practice from the CCAC.
