Job description
Pancreatic cancer (PDAC) remains a formidable adversary. The Pancreatic Cancer Immunotherapy research group, co-led by Drs Simon Turcotte, John Stagg and Gerardo Ferbeyre from the CHUM Research Center, discovered that PDAC cancer cells became resistant to chemotherapy by entering a state of 'transient dormancy' called senescence. We hypothesize that this senescence causes the expression of immunogenic peptides on the surface of cancer cells that could be used to create vaccines or anti-cancer lymphocyte transfusions.
