Gareth Lim (Cardiometabolic Research Theme): Canada Research Chair in Adipocyte Development (Tier 2)

Dr. Alexandre Prat (Neuroscience Research Theme): C Canada Research Chair in Multiple Sclerosis (Tier 1)

Funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada and the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada, these chairs recognize research excellence in Canadian universities.

Tier 1 Chairs are awarded to outstanding researchers recognized by their peers, and are renewable once only after seven years. Tier 2 Chairs, which are awarded for five years and renewable once, are designed to support new researchers and kick-start their careers.
