
As part of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) Fall 2024 Project Grants Competition, five researchers from the Centre de recherche du CHUM (CRCHUM), divided into four teams, will receive funding for their projects.
The management of the CRCHUM would like to congratulate them on their success.
In total, CIHR has awarded grants to 442 researchers across the country, representing an investment of $411 million.
Funded projects
- Dr. Nathalie Auger, a researcher in the Innovation hub research theme, has received funding of $447,524 over three and a half years for a project entitled “Maternal mortality: Burden, risk factors, and outcomes”.
- Élie Bou Assi and Dr. Dang Khoa Nguyen, researchers in the Neuroscience research theme, and their colleague Frédéric Lesage (Polytechnique Montréal), have received funding of $817,020 over five years for a project entitled “Improving the diagnosis of epilepsy using computational EEG analysis and machine learning”.
- Dr. Gilles Soulez, a researcher in the Imaging and Engineering research theme, and his colleague Sylvain Martel (Polytechnique Montréal) have received funding of $1,078,650 over five years for a project entitled “Magnetic resonance navigation: optimization of drug eluting beads delivery for treatment of liver cancer”.
- Dr. Daniel von Renteln, a researcher in the Imaging and Engineering research theme, and his colleagues Dr. Alan Barkun (McGill University) and Dr. Neal Shahidi (University of British Columbia), have received funding of $1,338,752 over four years for a project entitled “Reducing adverse events after endoscopic resection of large colorectal polyps”.
