Job description

The laboratory conducts clinical trials in populations suffering from mood disorders and drug addiction, in order to develop and rigorously evaluate innovative treatments in a high-need clinical area, around three elements: 

  • Psychological interventions and psychoeducation 
  • Pharmacological interventions using psychoactive substances, including ketamine and psilocybin 
  • Integrative interventions (mindfulness, meditation, physical exercise).  

The laboratory wishes to integrate a neuroscience dimension into its current projects, by including techniques such as electroencephalography (EEG) and other neuroimaging methods. 

The activities related to this position are mainly carried out face-to-face, but some of them can be carried out remotely. 

The position will be funded by funds provided by the postdoctoral fellow (IRSC/FRQS/etc.) and by research grants and funds held by the laboratory.


Responsibilities

In addition to providing specific expertise, the role of the postdoctoral fellow will also consist of participating in all activities of the research group, including:

  • Coordinate all stages leading to the start of projects, particularly on the regulatory and ethical levels
  • Ensure the rigorous progress of the operations necessary for carrying out laboratory studies
  • Database construction
  • Patient recruitment 
  • Enter research data with RedCAP software and perform data cleaning
  • Assist in the writing of peer-reviewed articles
  • Supervise graduate students in the laboratory 
  • Contribute to data analysis using standard statistical techniques, such as regression analysis, analysis of variance (ANOVA), factor analysis and structural equation modeling, using software such as R or SPSS
  • Support the preparation of oral presentations and posters at national and international conferences
Qualifications 
  • Doctorate in psychiatry, psychology, neuroscience, epidemiology or other health-related field
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, spirit of initiative and autonomy
  • Good knowledge of research, regulatory requirements and research ethics 
  • Ease of interacting with people experiencing mental and emotional difficulties 
  • Excellent command of English (oral and written) (fluency in French will be considered an asset)
