Job description

We are looking for motivated and talented postdoctoral candidates to join our research program on adaptive radiotherapy, supported by physical modeling and artificial intelligence. The selected candidates will work on Monte Carlo modeling of advanced radiotherapy devices and participate in the training and validation of a range of AI tools aimed at optimizing and enhancing the effectiveness of the online adaptation process of radiotherapy treatments.

These positions are part of a collaboration between industry (Varian Medical Systems / Siemens Healthineers), the Department of Radiation Oncology at CHUM, and the Department of Physics at the University of Montreal. 

This unique environment will offer postdoctoral trainees direct exposure to translational research in radiation oncology, ranging from fundamental development to integration into a commercial product and/or clinical process.


Responsibilities
  • Conduct original research in the field of artificial intelligence applied to adaptive radiotherapy
  • Analyze and interpret simulated and experimental data
  • Write scientific articles for publication in peer-reviewed journals
  • Actively participate in lab meetings and research seminars
  • Assist in supervising master's and PhD students in their research projects
  • Collaborate with other researchers and external industry partners
  • Present research findings at conferences and workshops
Qualifications
  • A PhD in physics, medical physics, biomedical engineering, computer science, data science, or a related field obtained within the last 4 years
  • Experience in artificial intelligence/machine learning and/or Monte Carlo modeling
  • Demonstrated research experience through scientific publications and presentations at conferences
  • Experience with industrial collaborations is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and take initiatives while effectively communicating and collaborating with a multidisciplinary research team
  • Bilingualism (French and English) is an asset
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to meet deadlines
