The Quebec government presents Dr. Bertrand Routy with the Emerging Scientist award

As part of the 2022 Prix du Québec Awards, the Ministry of the Economy and Innovation and the Ministry of Culture and Communications chose to recognize the excellent research work of Dr. Bertrand Routy, a researcher in the Cancer Research Theme, by presenting him with the Emerging Scientist Award.

The names of the recipients of the nine cultural and seven science awards bestowed in 2022 were revealed in an official announcement on November 2nd at the National Archives in Montreal.

The Prix du Québec are the highest distinctions awarded by the Quebec government in the fields of science and culture.

Since 2017, the Emerging Scientist Award has been given to people under the age of 40 who stand out for their excellent research work and who are skilled at establishing and maintaining constructive, lasting relationships with the research community.

The official awards ceremony will take place on November 30, 2022, at Palais Montcalm in Quebec City.

As the recipient of the Emerging Scientist Award, Dr. Routy will receive a $10,000 grant, a silver medal engraved with his name created by the Quebec jewellery designer Ariane Marois, a calligraphy parchment scroll and a gold-plated silver pin.
