Research Interests

My research program focuses on physical activity and mental health, in two specific populations:

  1. adolescents and youth transitioning into adulthood
  2. people diagnosed with cancer

My research program is based on three axes:

  • Axis 1: Distinguish physical activity modalities (e.g. social context, sports group and team, sports profiles) and examine their effect on

  • Axis 2: Identify the psychosocial mechanisms (e.g. social support, sense of belonging, social networks) involved in the relationship between physical activity and
    • i) the adoption and maintenance of an active lifestyle
    • ii) mental health, mental disorders and health-related quality of life;

 I have a particular interest in the development and evaluation of multimodal prehabilitation interventions involving physical activity, nutrition and psychosocial support among people diagnosed with cancer.
