Cannabidiol (CBD), this molecule extracted from cannabis that many people would like to understand and tame, seems to have a loose back when it comes to stating its effects on health. Despite the non-euphoric nature attributed to CBD, some data could suggest that it confers a notable level of psychotropic effects, provided that certain parameters are respected. Dose? Route of administration? Specific product formulation? Complex to know… Are the products sold on the regulated market in Quebec likely to create such a detectable effect? A very relevant question from a public health point of view. Ultimately, what does CBD do to our body? And how can you be sure? Here is an effective strategy to answer it: conduct clinical studies.

The project's description

The Didier Jutras-Aswad research laboratory aims to find a person to carry out a doctoral project as part of a clinical study whose main objective is to verify whether low doses of CBD, as sold on the regulated market, possess the ability to generate a noticeable subjective response when consumed via inhalation. The project also offers the possibility of verifying the effect of low doses of CBD on a plethora of parameters related to mental health and human physiology. This is seminal work to better understand the effect of CBD products in a context of non-therapeutic consumption, making it possible to guide consumption choices based on evidence.
