Job description 

The Didier Jutras-Aswad research laboratory offers a unique opportunity to participate in an innovative doctoral project never before carried out in the world of cannabis consumption among young people. Revolving around the concepts of harm reduction, public health and information and communication technologies, this project aims to characterize and monitor the trajectories of cannabis consumption among hundreds of young people aged 18 to 24 who regularly consume, while simultaneously evaluating a set of correlates of physical and mental health.


The project's objectives 

  1. Determine whether, among young people who consume cannabis regularly or daily, there are distinct groups of consumption patterns (frequency, types of products, routes of administration, quantities consumed, THC:CBD composition) and, in corollary, characterize how these different consumption patterns evolve (or not!) over a period of 24 months.
  2. Examine the association between consumption trajectories and a series of physical and mental health indicators.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in biomedical sciences, psychiatry or neuroscience;
  • Be motivated and have research experience in the field of psychiatry, substance use, biostatistics, longitudinal studies, or a related field; 
  • Strong interest in working with populations who consume cannabis; 
  • Strong skills in quantitative analysis methods; 
  • Ability to seek scholarships for graduate studies; 
  • Good knowledge of French (an asset) and English; 
  • Excellent writing and communication skills
