Starting this autumn, the Université de Montréal will offer the only French-language course of its kind in the world: a micro-programme and a master's degree in embryology and development. Greg Fitzharris, a researcher at the CHUM Research Centre (CRCHUM) and director of the Department of Pathology and Cell Biology at Université de Montréal, is the driving force behind the programme.

The master's programme lasts two years. The first year is dedicated to learning from renowned specialists in reproduction and fertility, such as Sarah Kimmins, co-director of the programme, and Sophie Petropoulos, both from the CRCHUM, as well as Serge McGraw and Bernhard Payer from the CHU Sainte-Justine Research Centre. Greg FitzHarris s also one of the instructors.

The second year combines theory courses, placements in fertility clinics and a semester-long research project. It is also possible to complete only the first year, in which case the student will receive a microprogramme diploma.
