This year, Muscular Dystrophy Canada, a non-profit organization, chose to honour researcher Martine Tétreault (Neuroscience Research Theme) by presenting her with the Dr. David Green Award in the national “Rising Clinician/Researcher” category.

Every year, the association recognizes the outstanding involvement of volunteers, particularly in the areas of fundraising, awareness raising and advocacy for the neuromuscular disease community, and ongoing research support.

As an associate professor in the Department of Neuroscience at Université de Montréal’s Faculty of Medicine, Martine Tétreault will officially receive her award on November 5th during the association’s annual summit meeting.

With her translational research program based on a combination of multiomics and functional genomics approaches, the researcher studies neuromuscular and neurodegenerative diseases.

Her goal with this approach is to, among other things, improve the diagnosis of patients with rare neurological diseases and discover new mechanisms of disease progression or therapeutic targets.

Since 2019, she has benefited from the financial support of the Courtois, among others, to conduct some of her research.
